We are proud to announce that on 03/10/2020 at 16:00 BST, we will be hosting our second Grief Cafe!
This is a free event where anyone and everyone can join to share their experiences of #grief
This time, we will be speaking about the conflicting emotions that can arise during grief; guilt, shame, anger, anxiety. Perhaps you’ve felt guilty for feeling happy? Emotions are difficult and awkward to navigate while grieving. They can leave you feeling overwhelmed, uncomfortable and exhausted. You are not alone.
You can expect to meet with fellow people who have gone through a similar experience to you. Over the last two years we have learnt that no two grief stories are the same, but we want to continue to build a steady grief community to learn from, and listen to, each other. During the cafe, the group will breakaway into smaller groups of up to 6 people to prevent feelings of overwhelm. We want you to feel as comfortable as possible.
Personally, I never imagined that I’d be in a position to openly speak about my grief 2 years ago. I’d just like to stress that this cafe is completely on your terms. If you would like to come along to simply listen to others with your microphone and camera turned off, that is fine. If you only want to stay 10 minutes, that’s fine too! There is absolutely no pressure on you to contribute to the conversation at all if you do not wish to. But also, if there is something you really want to get off your chest abut your grief, then that is welcomed too! This is a safe space without judgement where you will be listened to from the comfort of your own home.
It is an honour for us to be part of this community. It is an honour that you support our work and trust us enough to come along and show your support to normalising the conversation about grief, anyway that you can.
We really hope to see more of our lovely followers on the 03/10/2020, 16:00 BST.
If you know someone this could be a useful tool for, share it with them too!
