#31 Thursday Thoughts: How Do You Bring Peace Into Your Day?

For us, it is through being connected with nature and each other. We frequently go for walks and call each other when we are apart.

Individually, we like to have a peaceful night time routine where we focus on winding down.

  1. Peace is SOOO elusive in our time, with even families taking “sides” on whether or not to get vaccinated, how to handle immigration/emigration issues, how to finance governments’ wish-lists.
So Anita and I read together some Old Testament and then some New Testament passages every night. We are now working our way through our fifth time through the Bible, and that is only at a few chapters per night.
Then we pray for each other and our families.
There is rich wisdom throughout the Bible, even in some unexpected places.
Check out https://www.biblegateway.com/ for a good resource on how to read it.

  3. I stop and redirect attention to the breath and body, to exactly where I am in space and time. I see that I’m not my stream of thought, and in fact, exist outside of any concepts. I find that reality is usually without drama once I stop believing thoughts are reality. Good question.
