Cast In Marble
A new spring’s about to start
Ten lost winters have weathered my heart
And mud-larks still sing until dark
Bridges of dreams were crossed
The ocean and river spanned
Waters of love found
Our true love ran deep
Cascading over hidden rocks
And sharp stones were softened by sand
The winds of time shredded
Our threadbare sails
And replaced the canvas sheets
With a bed of coffin nails
Her destiny is cast in marble
Where I witness her natural sparkle
And recall a gracious everlasting smile
