I think as a young person who has lost their mum, I am quite tired of being scared of everything.
What they didn’t know was that I was slowly losing it. My grades were the only thing I could even begin to control. I believed the only thing I could truly count on was that in March 2019 I would be at university. The hardest thing I had to do was leave my mum curled up on the sofa to revise for my exams. Repeatedly I beat myself up for being so selfish, but I promised myself that I would have all of summer to be with my Mum.
I understand that a post may not do a lot, but I hope it can help someone, somewhere feel less alone. I have started to write ‘Quarantine Tips’ which are posts that will focus on trying to make the best of a bad situation and how we can help our mental health during this time. They will be out on Fridays.
More than anything though, we hope you are keeping safe and that you are in good health. Be kind to yourself during this period and always.
